Highlights: A year of great events at Maxxi, a museum in motion - Lazio. Major exhibitions, collaborations and interdisciplinary projects. Visual arts, architecture, design, music, dance, theatre, performance. 2024 for Maxxi is a year characterized by major exhibitions and prestigious collaborations with museums and cultural institutions in Italy and in the world. The first exhibition project is the exhibition 'Ambienti 1956 - 2010. Environments by Women Artists II', with Haus der Kunst Monaco, on the border between art, architecture and design.


Major exhibitions, collaborations and interdisciplinary projects (ANSA)


Visual arts, architecture, design, music, dance, theatre, performance: 2024 for Maxxi, the national museum of 21st century arts in Rome, is a year characterized by major exhibitions and prestigious collaborations with museums and cultural institutions in Italy and in the world.


    The first exhibition project is the exhibition 'Ambienti 1956 - 2010. Environments by Women Artists II', with Haus der Kunst Monaco, which from 10 April will highlight the contribution of women to the history of environments, on the border between art, architecture and design .

Other appointments and significant collaborations follow, such as the one with the Guggenheim Bilbao from 21 June in the monographic 'Giovanni Anselmo.

Beyond the horizon', focus on the artist's complete work, from the 70s to the most recent research.

Also on June 21st, the interdisciplinary exhibition designed by Italo Rota, 'La Visione Astratta.

Physical experience of abstract thinking, a journey into the human mind and its potential.


    In October, architecture and the eternal utopia of space in movement return with the 'InMotion' exhibition, curated by Studio Diller Scofidio+Renfro, among the most famous and influential in the world.

In November the exhibition 'Memorable: Ipermoda', in collaboration with the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, displays clothes, accessories and images that tell the story of fashion and its aspiration to be memorable.

In December the museum, in collaboration with the Institute for Cataloging and Documentation, hosts the exhibition dedicated to the photographer Guido Guidi, who revolutionized the way of relating to the landscape.


    In the Extra and Corner spaces, the projects with the Ministry of Culture continue: from 22 March 'Artificial Hell' recounts Dante's infernal journey in a sequence of figurative works created by Riccardo Boccuzzi with AI;

from March 27th 'Elegant Brigands.

The art of men's fashion traces the archetypes of fashion in these legendary figures;

from 13 June 'Nuove Avventure Sotterranee' will be exhibiting photos of major works in Italy, Argentina, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.


    Finally, the prizes that enhance the talent of young artists, the Maxxi Bvlgari Prize and the Italian Architecture Prize with the Milan Triennale.
