The former carpentry shop in Bichl was destroyed in a major fire in November.

After three months the rubble will be removed.

Bichl – Since the major fire on November 28th last year, the building on Ludlmühlstrasse has been in ruins.

Now the cleanup work has begun.

“A company was commissioned to clean the fire site and clear away the rubble,” explains owner Petra Hundhammer when asked.

Hundhammer does not want to provide any information about what will happen next with the property.

Just this much: “We are in the planning stage and are now moving forward step by step.”

Fire in Bichl a “shock” for the owner: “But nothing helps”

The Bichler woman was “shocked” by the fire, as she says.

“It was just shit.” The former carpentry shop had already burned down once.

On Ash Wednesday 2011 the building was on fire.

At that time, Hundhammer was lucky and “only” part of the building burned down.

After the major fire in November, there was hardly anything left.

“But it doesn’t help, we have to look forward,” says the Bichler woman.

The past few weeks have been exhausting for Petra Hundhammer.

“The whole thing involved a lot of work and excitement for us,” she reports.

But what particularly hits her: “The fire means that part of Bichl's history is disappearing again.” Hundhammer fears that the memory of the old carpentry workshop will be lost.
