Armin and Dominik from Allgäu are competing in Germany's Next Top Model.
In an exclusive interview they talk about working with Heidi Klum and their goals.
Allgäu – This has never happened before!
The 19th season of Heidi Klum's casting show recently started with a sensation: for the first time, male models are also taking part in the competition for the most beautiful woman or man in Germany.
And two of the hottest contenders for this title (Heidi Klum: “You look like a young god!”) come from the Allgäu, Kempten and Waltenhofen.
Armin (27) and Dominik (28) have known each other since childhood and are best friends.

However, as we all know, on Heidi's catwalk only “one person can become Germany's Next Top Model”.
We interviewed the two boys at Germany's most famous casting competition and asked the two "Best Buddies" the crucial questions about their careers in an exclusive interview.
Male models are taking part in GNTM for the first time. Good timing for you. What was your impulse to apply for the casting show?
Armin
: “Many friends advised me to apply, but in the end it was Dominik who was able to persuade me to take part.”
Dominik
: “After I recognized the unique opportunity, there was no turning back for me.”
How did those around you react to the application?
Armin
: “My parents were very skeptical at first.
Now they get excited every Thursday.”
Dominik
: “The people around me are already used to me always throwing myself into exciting things.
But when the final confirmation was made, they were prouder than ever.”

Do you receive a lot of support from home?
Armin
: “Yes, definitely.
I get a lot of support from my friends and receive a lot of supportive messages.”
Dominik
: “Like Armin, I received a lot of messages, especially from many friends from my home country.”
Which typical Allgäu characteristics are useful to you when casting? Down-to-earthness, a tendency to be stubborn, callousness and a certain calmness according to the motto “no net hudla - there is strength in calmness”?
Dominik
and
Armin
: “As real Allgäu residents, we don’t want to shy away from any challenge and keep a cool head even under pressure.
For this you need the Allgäu characteristics such as cold-snout and a certain stubbornness in order not to give up.”

Have you prepared well with summit tours, Alpsee surfing, pull-ups and catwalk training?
Armin

Dominik
laugh: “Because we were only accepted at the open casting, things happened quickly for us.
We barely had time to prepare in the Allgäu and found ourselves straight away in Tenerife.”
How does it feel to be on a shooting tour with Heidi Klum? And what do you expect from taking part in the most famous of all modeling competitions?
Dominik
and
Armin
: “We hope that Heidi Klum can give us the finishing touches for the fashion world with her years of experience.”

How is it getting along with the other model candidates?
Dominik
: “It’s a colorful mix of different characters.
All lovely people, but of course they all have the same goal and want to become Germany's Next Top Model.
That’s why you sometimes feel competitive pressure.”
Armin
: “You meet new, exciting personalities who are also very strong competition.”
Best buddies instead of cat fights: You are good friends and have known each other since your childhood. This is also new at GNTM: Because here you are actually competitors. Does this affect your friendship?
Armin
and
Dominik
: “We will support each other until the end and both give our best.
And if we both don’t make it to the final, one will continue to fight for the other.”
Where do people like to meet you in the Allgäu?
Dominik
: “On the Grünten or in the pizzeria!”
