At “Cash for Rares” there is usually a peaceful bidding for the rarities.

Now there was already a discussion in front of the dealer room.

Moderator Horst Lichter had a serious word with a candidate.

Cologne – Oops, the viewers of “Bares für Rares” don’t even know the presenter Horst Lichter (62).

Normally the 62-year-old is a real cheerful person.

But in the ZDF junk show on March 11th he had to talk to a candidate Tacheles - strict words were used.

At “Cash for Rares” some rarities spark heated discussions.

But not every object causes surprising feelings of elation, as many sellers have already experienced real bankruptcy with “Cash for Rares”.

And now the next wow moment came: Even before a possible negotiation took place, moderator Horst Lichter had to say a word of power.

The reason was a bronze sculpture that was offered for sale by Nicole Schulz and Bernhard Kurkowski.

After a short chat between those willing to sell and the moderator, Lichter learned what the bronze sculpture was supposed to represent: namely a pregnant woman.

Kurkowski once received it as a gift from an acquaintance, but for reasons of space gave it to his close friend Nicole.

However, she was not very pleased.

Horst Lichter also thought it was an inappropriate gift for a woman.

He clarified: “Imagine if she gave you a marble figure of a naked man.

Nicole, that’s nice of you.” Nicole couldn’t agree more.

But things weren't always easy for Lichter.

The happy nature was born on January 15, 1962 in Nettesheim and grew up in the Rhenish lignite mining area.

He began training to be a chef at the age of 14.

He has three adult children (two sons and a daughter).

He has been married to Nada Sosinka for the third time since 2009.

“Cash for Rares”: Big hello in the dealer room – dealer Steve Mandel knows who is willing to sell

But now there was finally a chance to get rid of the gift.

The exciting question was: What was the sculpture worth?

The estimated value was around 1,800 to 2,000 euros.

Expert Detlev Kümmel (55) explained that the figure is entitled “Pregnancy” and was created by the Lithuanian artist Isaac Kahn in the late 80s and early 90s.

After this evaluation, Horst Lichter handed over the dealer card.

With the coveted card, Nicole and Bernhard were allowed to enter the room where the four dealers were waiting for them.

There was a surprised hello here because expert Steve Mandel (70) knew the person who wanted to sell and lives in Aachen.

“Bernd, is that you?” Mandel asked as the two entered the room.

And added: “I know the Lord.

He’s a good friend of mine.” The auction followed a little later, with bids quickly rising to over 1,000 euros.

Finally, Fabian Kahl (32) was awarded the contract for 1,400 euros.

By the way: In “Cash for Rares”, a flea market find turned out to be a real rarity - even Horst Lichter got wide-eyed when the price was mentioned.
