No daycare center will be built in construction site B3 of the Papierbach district (ULP).
The Am Papierbach Development Company (APE) applied for a corresponding exemption from the development plan, which the city council approved by a majority.
Landsberg – More apartments will be built in place of the daycare center.
In return, APE makes a compensation payment to the city, which is to be used elsewhere to create care places.
It had been known for some time that the development would not proceed as planned.

Compensation payment instead of building a daycare center is simply “a different type of participation”.
Jonas Pioch (SPD) objected that the compensation payment would only be effective if it was so high that the city could build an equivalent daycare center elsewhere.

City architect Annegret Michler could only say that there are currently “tendencies” towards falling construction costs.
This is positive for public clients, but ultimately speculative.
The amount of the compensation payment is known to the city council, but is otherwise not public.
Michler also pointed out that the daycare center, which had now been painted, would have been integrated into a residential building, which was not ideal.
“An independent building with good open spaces is a nicer environment for children and staff.” Baumgartl added that with an integrated daycare center the city would have become part of a homeowners’ association, which would have brought its own difficulties.

“It bothers me how the location is being talked about badly.” After all, a lot of thought was given during the original planning and no one ever disputed that the daycare center in the ULP would make sense.

However, his vote against APE's motion remained the only one.
Things were different when it came to parking spaces.
Seven additional apartments would have to be created for the planned two-story apartments.
However, there is no more space for them in the underground car park, whose construction is about to begin.
However, APE has the option of paying a fee to the city, which will forgo the parking spaces in return.
Hans-Jürgen Schulmeister (Landsberger Mitte) spoke out against this.
“The spaces are necessary, otherwise people will park on the periphery.” However, the fee for the parking spaces was also approved with three votes against.
