Prittlbach – A 17-year-old cyclist was injured in a collision with a school bus on Thursday morning.
According to the Dachau police station, the 31-year-old bus driver, who comes from Markt Indersdorf, turned right at the traffic lights into Dorfstrasse, which leads to Prittlbach, at around 7:35 a.m. in the Münchner Strasse/Freisinger Strasse area of Hebertshausen.
He overlooked the 17-year-old who was riding on the bike path parallel to the bus and wanted to continue pedaling straight ahead at the junction.
The teenager hit the right side of the bus and suffered a minor head injury.
She was taken to Dachau Hospital by ambulance to be treated.
Students on the bus remain uninjured after the accident
There were around 20 to 30 students from Hebertshausen elementary and middle school on the bus.
As headmaster Christian Deusel announced, none of the children were injured.
The school management organized a second bus that picked up the students and transported them to school, said Deusel.
“The school psychologist and the school management then looked after her and quickly got the matter under control.”
According to Dachau police, the bus driver is being investigated for negligent bodily harm.
