Late Wednesday afternoon, residents of a building in the Terrenoire district, bothered by the odors emanating from an apartment, entered the abandoned accommodation.

Inside, they came across a corpse, masked, rolled up in two quilts, themselves tied with a rope which held the whole thing together.

Contacted, the public prosecutor's office went to the site and immediately referred an investigation into the murder to the organized and specialized crime division (DCOS, ex-PJ) of the DIPN of the Loire.

The scientific police and a forensic doctor were dispatched to the site to carry out initial findings and free the body from its packaging.

65-year-old retiree missing since February 14

These operations revealed that it was a man who seemed to correspond to the identity of a 65-year-old retiree, residing in Saint-Galmier, whose very worrying disappearance since February 14 had been reported by his family.

It gave rise to the opening of a judicial investigation, on February 27, into charges of arrest, kidnapping and sequestration.

This discovery led the prosecution to refer the matter to the investigating judge, who was already in charge of the case linked to the disappearance of the sixty-year-old, to extend the investigation to the crime of assassination.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place Friday to confirm the identity of the deceased.

The investigation continues to determine the causes of the retiree's death and find the perpetrators of this crime.
