Since the return from the winter holidays, educational establishments in Seine-Saint-Denis have been mobilizing to obtain an emergency plan for education.
They are demanding measures to help the poorest department in France.
“It is not a question of asking for more resources for the department,” specifies MP Alexis Corbière (LFI).

This Thursday, at the call of an inter-union grouping the FSU, the CGT Éduc'Action, Sud Éducation and the CNT, several thousand people - 5,000 people according to the unions, 1,200 for the police - from different cities like Aulnay-sous-Bois, Montreuil and Aubervilliers converged on the prefecture of Seine-Saint-Denis in Bobigny.
“This movement is unanimously supported by the elected officials of the department,” underlines Alexis Corbière.

The organizations say that 358 million euros would solve this problem.
“The State will invest 2.4 billion on uniforms and 2.5 billion on universal national service,” observes Alexis Corbière.

The demonstration is also characterized by firm opposition to the implementation of uniforms and level groups.
“This measure would socially sort students and demobilize them quickly,” says Alexis Corbière.
