Eight people have been arrested for their involvement in the group attack committed ten days ago, during the first Saturday of the Magdalena festivities in Castellón, against the anti-fascist group La Cosa Nostra, as police sources have confirmed to various media outlets.
In the attack, perpetrated by a group of around thirty people, carrying sticks and bars and linked to the extreme right, as eyewitnesses indicated, a 32-year-old young man, a resident of Vila-real, was seriously injured. He was admitted the same night of the event to the ICU of the General Hospital, where he remained for three days.
A dozen people suffered injuries of various degrees.
The national police opened an investigation that is now concluded, more than a week after the events, with the first arrested, who are accused of attempted homicide, hate crime and public disorder, notes the Mediterranean

For its part, the SER indicates that the location of a baseball bat in the vicinity of the festival center, located on Sant Miquel street in the city, would have provided evidence that has facilitated the arrests.
Those arrested are waiting to be brought to justice.
Shouting "La Plana will be the tomb of feixisme", "Cap agressió sense responsa" or "Fora feixistes dels nostres barris", hundreds of people packed the Plaça de l'Ereta last weekend, near the attacked center and headquarters. of different collas during the holidays, in the rally called by La Cosa Nostra “against fascism in the neighborhoods” and in solidarity with the dozen injured in the multiple attack.
Casal sources confirm the “ideological” tone of the attack.
In reading the manifesto during the aforementioned protest, they denounced the “escalation of tension and hatred” suffered from the institutional level by the group, with 16 years of experience “in defense of an alternative, independent leisure, without external financing and self-managed.”
“The objective is to demobilize and frighten us, but we will continue to feed popular spaces like this, we will be a retaining wall against fascism,” they noted.
In addition, they accused the Security Councilor of Castelló, Antonio Ortolá (Vox), of encouraging the events.
“He is politically responsible for the aggression for fueling this wave of tension,” they said.
An accusation from which the councilor distanced himself a few days ago: “To anyone who tries to play politics with such a serious crime by trying to link me, I tell him that he has no other qualification other than miserable.
I will always take the side of the victim, never the aggressor,” explained the councilor of the ultra formation in statements to this newspaper after the rally.
However, the Les Corts plenary session held this week has not condemned the fascist attack in Castellón due to Vox's refusal, considering "sectarian and partisan" the institutional declaration presented by Compromís, which appeals to "the importance of condemning this type of acts and to avoid the proliferation of hate speech and the trivialization of political violence.”
The events occurred on the night of March 2 when a group of around thirty members, “linked to the extreme right” and loaded with bars and sticks, headed towards the headquarters of the aforementioned group, which at that time, and in within the framework of the Magdalena Insurrecta, he had organized several concerts.
According to eyewitnesses, on their way to the house they attacked the seriously injured resident of Vila-real with an iron bar, who had gone to the group and who at that time was in an adjacent street.
He was admitted to the ICU that same night and was not transferred to the ward until three days later.
According to witnesses of the events, those who came to the defense of the beaten young man managed to divert the route of the group of attackers and prevent them from accessing the premises of the aforementioned group, which was very busy at that time.
“They are killing each other out there,” said some of the neighboring houses, who decided to close their doors.
