A very large-scale computer attack.
France Travail announced this Wednesday March 13 that it had been targeted by a cyberattack which could affect no less than 43 million people.
The database that would have been extracted contains the personal identification data of people currently registered but also of people previously registered over the last 20 years.
Those not registered on the list of job seekers but having a candidate space on the France Travail website are also concerned.
If passwords and banking details are not put at risk with this cyberattack, identity data such as surname, first name, date and place of birth are, as is social security number, France Travail identifier as well as the email address, postal address and telephone number.
Watch out for the next emails and SMS you will receive
As provided for in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), France Travail is obliged to individually inform all people affected by this personal data violation, via their personal space or by email.
If you are one of them, there are several reflexes to adopt.
The Cnil (National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties) advises you to be particularly vigilant with regard to emails and SMS messages that you may receive, particularly if they invite you to carry out an emergency action such as a payment.
If in doubt, it is recommended not to open attachments or click on links contained in messages that invite you to connect to a personal space.

It is essential to never communicate your password or banking details by email.
The CNIL reminds that it is necessary to periodically check the activities and movements on your various accounts, and that you must ensure that you use a sufficiently strong password on your email, bank accounts and other important services.
An online complaint form made available
If this data leak does not concern passwords or banking details, “it is possible that the data which was the subject of the violation is coupled with other information from previous data leaks”, specifies the French personal data regulator.
For people wishing to file a complaint, it is possible to do so without having to go to a police station or gendarmerie, by completing an online form which takes an estimated time of 6 minutes to complete.
In the coming hours, a dedicated information system will be available via the 39 49 telephone platform to support people who need it.
