At the reception of the Free Voters' Association, the MVV managing director gave an initial positive assessment of the district's accession.

Some challenges remain.

District

- The district's accession to the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) was the focus of the local political spring reception of the Free Voters' Community in the district.

MVV managing director Bernd Rosenbusch was a guest at the Rottach Seeforum as a speaker.

MVV managing director draws a positive conclusion

“Even if there are still a few problems in the first quarter since the start, there are already many advantages,” said Rosenbusch, taking stock at the spring reception.

As reported, the district has been part of the association since December 10th last year.

“And it should get even better,” he announced.

Passengers, for example between Bayrischzell and the airport, now only need one ticket at a cheaper price than before.

Thanks to the MVV app, the tedious search for connections and zone counting are no longer necessary.

In the future, not only trains, buses and Munich lines will be linked; on-call buses and taxis such as the Hoki local bus will also gradually be added.

“The best ticket price and the most advantageous connection are always displayed for the route from home to the destination,” said Rosenbusch.

Rosenbusch: Regional traffic in the Oberland should be renovated

It was also clear to the speaker that with trains running every hour and the number of cars increasing, this would not encourage many people to switch to public transport.

“The railway in the Oberland needs to be modernized, actually renovated,” he emphasized.

For an attractive half-hourly service, the routes would have to be double-tracked and the stations would have to be more modern.

In Rosenbusch's view, there is "no financing problem for the state" for the expansion of regional transport, which has been neglected for fifty years, "we have a question of prioritization".

From three years as managing director at the Bayerische Oberlandbahn, Rosenbusch also knew: “If you want to experience something historical, you should look at the signal box in Miesbach – from 1907, an imposition!”

For the electronic booking world, the speaker received homework from Anton Grafwallner from Gmund.

“I can’t use the app because of my disability,” reported the former district disability officer, who sits in a wheelchair.

“In the previous printed timetable for the Tegernsee Valley, handicapped-friendly trains, buses and stops were marked;

Now I can't find anything on the Internet.” Maybe the planned chip card will be useful to him one day, said Rosenbusch, “and without a smartphone you can still use ATMs.”

FWG happy about partnership with MVV

After FWG district chairman Norbert Kerkel welcomed the guests from almost all communities in the well-filled upper foyer, Hausham mayor and deputy district administrator Jens Zangenfeind highlighted the challenges posed by the high traffic in the district in his report from the district council.

Without the “strong partner MVV”, the problems with overcrowded trains and car traffic jams could hardly be solved with our own efforts alone, he admitted.

Particularly with a view to climate protection, commitment is required in order to prevent future costs of millions for CO2 certificates.

Jobs close to home would not only benefit the climate, but also community life, in clubs and rescue organizations.

“But this requires a reduction in bureaucracy for medium-sized businesses, in construction or in the integration of foreign workers,” demanded the speaker to much applause.
