On the international “Plant a Flower Day” on Tuesday (March 12th), the Gautinger “Bee Automat” also started the new season.

Gauting -

In Gauting, the vending machine is easily accessible right in front of the community library and offers reusable capsules with regional seeds for a few coins.

There are two different flowering mixtures to choose from, which are suitable for both the garden and balcony.

“This is intended to improve the diversity of food for bees, butterflies and the like in our towns,” explains Michaela Thiel, the nature conservation officer for the municipality of Gauting and the person responsible for the bee machine.

Suitable for garden and balcony

The yellow machine at Bahnhofstrasse 7 is part of a nationwide network of over 200 locations that are run with great commitment by clubs, schools, municipalities, companies and private individuals.

The bee feeder initiative was created in 2019 from an idea by the master craftsman Everding and the campaign 'Let your place blossom!'

of the Frankfurt educational project 'Bee Rescuer'.

As a cooperation partner, the social enterprise 'Bienenretter Manufaktur' provides the filling material with local plants at cost price.

From the sale of each capsule, a donation goes to the bee rescuer educational work.

The machine at the community library is well stocked

Not only the pollinators, but also the bee automatons have been in hibernation in the last few months.

From March 12th, Plant a Flower Day, the machines will be filled again and will be waiting for gardeners big and small.

The day of action, which originated in the USA, is also seen in Germany as a call to make your garden or balcony blossom.

“From the bees’ point of view, of course, every day is plant-a-flower day,” emphasizes Christian Bourgeois from the Bee Rescuer educational project.

Nevertheless, this day is a good reason to visit the nearest bee vending machine.

The company's own reusable system with a deposit box for the empty capsules also appeals to users' environmental awareness.
