His wife and daughter are at his side.

The health of popular actor Fritz Wepper (82) has suffered several setbacks in recent months.

Known for his roles in For Heaven's Sake and Derrick, Wepper suffered blood poisoning in 2011 from which he was never able to fully recover.

At the end of 2023 he was forced to seek medical care and was unable to spend the Christmas period at home.

Fritz Wepper is currently in a hospice in Upper Bavaria.

His wife Susanne Kellermann (49) and their daughter Filippa (12) visit him there every day.

The actor is still mentally clear, but his physical condition appears to be severely weakened and impaired.

The 82-year-old can no longer stand up without support and is reportedly no longer receiving medication.

In the end he was always dependent on a wheelchair.

Great concern for Fritz Wepper: cult actor from “Derrick” had to accept a serious blow of fate

The cult actor thrilled cinema and especially television audiences for decades.

His breakthrough came in 1959 in the anti-war film "The Bridge", and later he also starred in the Edgar Wallace film "The Man with the Glass Eye" (1969) and the Oscar-winning musical film "Cabaret" (1972).

TV viewers know him best as Harry Klein from “The Commissioner” (from 1969 to 1974) and “Derrick” (from 1974 to 1998) and Mayor Wolfgang Wöller from “For Heaven's Sake”.

The death of his brother Elmar Wepper on October 31, 2023 hit the Munich-born actor hard.

Prior to this loss, he had recovered from cancer, which became public in 2021, and a severe COVID-19 infection.
