The Hörbach youth have had their own hut where they meet for many years.
Now something similar is to be created in Althegnenberg.
The youth council presented its concept to the local council.
Althegnenberg – Youth Council Chairwoman Annika Strauss presented a survey in which 43 young people from the town took part.
The majority of them would like to have their own youth hut.
The hut will be built near the sports center.
There used to be a trailer for young people there.
A hut of 30 square meters costs 6,700 euros, the smaller version costs just under 4,000 euros.
A construction trailer or caravan for around 3,300 euros would also be conceivable.
It is important to the youth council that the meeting point can also be used by future generations of young people.
Equipment
The equipment you want is a couch, a refrigerator, a few tables and a beer table set for outside.
A grill would also be nice.
You need your own toilet, electricity connection and WiFi network.
Andreas Birzele (Greens) welcomed the idea, but wondered whether the location was ideal and whether people would prefer to be alone more.
“It was deliberately chosen that way, we want to be present,” replied Annika Strauß on the subject of location.
In addition, it is easier there with a power connection, added youth speaker Benedikt Wex (BI).
He hopes that he can appeal to many users with his own youth club.

Alexander Rasch (DG Hörbach) also liked the project and recalled what was achieved in Hörbach with the construction of the hut.
“You simply appreciate things you make yourself more,” he said, referring to the fact that the young people tackle the project together.
Peter Neubauer (DG Hörbach) added: “A lightweight hut is not that suitable.
We built something massive in Hörbach back then.” And Ludwig Schmid (CSU) warned: “The insulation has to be good, that’s important in winter, otherwise you won’t get there with your electricity cost calculation of 30 euros.”
The local council will decide on March 21st what is possible in terms of youth clubs.
This meeting will be about the budget.
