In the Ebersberg district, the authorities are also testing the disaster signal, which is intended to alert the population to urgent news in the event of an emergency.
Ebersberg
- This Thursday, March 14th, it's going to be loud: At 11 a.m. the sirens will sound and cell phones will sound the alarm again on a trial basis, as the Ebersberg district office has now announced.
The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior will centrally trigger the warning devices and warning multipliers connected to the modular warning system (MoWaS) for the whole of Bavaria.
These include, in particular, Cell Broadcast and the warning apps NINA, KATWARN and BIWAPP.
As with the last test alarms, the Ebersberg district centrally triggers the “disaster signal”, which is stored on all sirens, according to the district authorities.
(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)
The test alarm tests the means and systems on site that can be used to warn the population of impending dangers.
These include, among other things, natural disasters, large fires, rocket attacks, large-scale power outages or released radioactivity.
In an emergency, you should turn on a radio and find out about the situation.
One minute of howling sound
In addition, a rising and falling howling tone should be heard for one minute, which should generally prompt the population to turn on their radios and pay attention to announcements in the event of serious threats to public safety.
The last warning day in Bavaria took place in September 2023 and, according to Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU), was satisfactory overall, although not problem-free everywhere.
