The Evangelical Community loses its hall.

The clock is ticking: the rental agreement expires at the end of April.

Guilt is an economic decision.

Wolfratshausen – The Evangelical Community of Wolfratshausen has to start looking for a new place to live.

Until now it was housed in the Haupt Pharma building complex on Pfaffenrieder Straße.

After the pharmaceutical manufacturer closed its location at the end of last year, as reported, the rental agreement for the community's approximately 370 square meter premises was also terminated.

The moving boxes must be packed by the end of April.

Now the 70 members are looking for new accommodation.

“We would like to stay in Wolfratshausen,” says Barbara Hingerl (69), who is a member of the community’s elders.

Her wish: “An area of at least 230 square meters including a hall of around 113 square meters.

A small kitchen would be great, as would a foyer and, if possible, a small office.”

The accommodation would be used outside normal working hours.

“We have the Sunday service in the morning and would use the rooms three to four times a week in the late afternoon and evening.” There is also the “breathing break” women's meeting every two weeks on Tuesday mornings.

“Many visitors are seniors.

For them, attending an evening event would involve a lot of effort.”

Emergency among believers: No more hall for the Protestant community

The Wolfratshausen Protestant community has been at home in Loisachstadt for decades.

However, they initially had no rooms of their own.

The meetings for Bible studies and church services took place in small groups in the living rooms of some members.

“A married couple led the confirmation meetings.

They made their living room available to the youth group,” reports Hingerl.

In 1987, the opportunity arose to rent a former operating room in the old hospital on Gebhardtstrasse.

Over time, the community was able to offer its members family services on Sunday mornings and hours for children.

After 15 years, in 2002, the rental agreement was terminated.

The community found a new home at Haupt Pharma until the following March.

“First we moved to the ground floor,” says Hingerl.

“Eleven years later, when these rooms were to be used for something else, Haupt Pharma suggested the accommodation on the first floor.” But now this rental agreement is also expiring.

“We must have found a new place to stay by April 30th.”

“We have trust in God”: Evangelical community is losing its home

There is no plan yet.

“In an emergency, we have to store our things.” But since the community is only financed through donations, it has to be managed well.

“That of course limits the offers,” says Hingerl.

“Nevertheless, we have faith in God.

He will put us where he wants us.”
