There is a personnel change among the Free Voters in the Marktoberdorf city council: Carl Singer is giving up his mandate and a successor is to be sworn in next Monday.

– Carl Singer, member of the city council since 2008, its finance representative and member of numerous committees, takes his hat off.
The second chairman of the Free Voters in Marktoberdorf justifies his departure with the legal incompatibility of the mandate and the management of Fernwärme Marktoberdorf GmbH, a subsidiary of the city.
“According to case law, which was not previously known, taking over the management of Fernwärme Marktoberdorf GmbH on behalf of the supervisory board at the end of 2023 led to a conflict with the position as a city councilor,” explains Singer himself. He had to decide either to give up the management of the district heating or his city council mandate.

The decision was made in favor of district heating because “participating in the change in energy production and the expansion of the district heating network are in my interests.” Incidentally, Singer fills the head position in district heating on a voluntary basis and without any compensation for expenses.
It is not easy for Singer to resign from his position.
He told the

: “I really enjoyed carrying out my voluntary work as a city councilor on behalf of the citizens.”

Carl Singer will officially resign from his position as city councilor at the next city council meeting, next Monday, March 18th.
The appointment of his successor on the list, Christian Würzner, is also planned for the same meeting.
Würzner also serves as an assessor on the board of the Free Voters Marktoberdorf.
The 33-year-old vocational school teacher lives in Geisenried, is married and has two children.
