Kristina Kuzminskaite was now farewelled with standing applause in the Welfenmünster in Steingaden.
In a thank you concert, the church musician once again inspired people with her love of music.

– Kristina Kuzminskaite once again gathered around her a large number of participants with whom she had worked in the past 14 years of her musical work in the Pfaffenwinkel.
The musicians included the Schongau city orchestra, the Welfenmünster wind ensemble, the Welfenmünster church choir and youth choir, the Illachtaler Singkinder, the “Cantiamo” children's choir from Peißenberg and the children's choir from Bad Bayersoien.

Instead of a usual concert review, the mood, enthusiasm and touching atmosphere that prevailed at this unique one and a half hour concert will be described here.
With this concert, Kuzminskaite wanted to say thank you to all active musicians and all the people who have accompanied her over the years.
Your typical mix of music
“I am a Bavarian Lithuanian,” she said in greeting.
And with this sentence she expressed her solidarity with the local people who gave her “home, a second parental home, protection and love”.
She put together the program in a mixture of happy and lively, but also touching and emotional pieces that is so typical for her.
There was a Bavarian march, “Spring”, appropriate to the season, by Antonio Vivaldi, several songs from the film “The Children of Monsieur Mathieu”, a Bavarian evening blessing and also two touching peace songs.
These were a message that was important to Kuzminskaite, as she emphasized at the beginning.
And when it became too tight in the chest from all the beautiful sounds, songs of praise to God were also allowed to be sung along.
A whirlwind when it comes to music
Making music together, supporting children and youth work, and conveying the joy of music: these are things that are close to Kristina Kuzminskaite’s heart.
How popular it is was clear: the church was not only full to the last seat.
People stood in the aisles and enthusiastically applauded each piece.

“You conjure up your music as gently as a breath over the sea,” said community speaker Karl Müller-Hindelang from Steingaden in a short speech.
But Kuzminskaite is also a whirlwind when it comes to music, says Müller-Hindelang.
The local newspapers in the Weilheim-Schongau district are represented on Instagram under “merkur_wm_sog”.
People felt these two facets, the gentleness and the bubbly happiness, again that afternoon.
The children and young people of the choirs threw paper airplanes through the sanctuary after the last song was sung together.
“And then my soul, be wide, be wide so that your life can be successful,” Kristina Kuzminskaite said goodbye with a poem by Rainer Maria Rilke and said: “In this sense, I remain connected to you.”
She will be missed.
