Landsberg will host the EUropaTour Bavaria 2024 on Thursday, April 11th. Under the motto “Choose your future,” the Europabus will stop on the main square from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There you can find comprehensive information about the European Union and the upcoming European elections on June 9th, when members of the European Parliament will be elected in Germany.

Landsberg - Mayor Doris Baumgartl appeals in particular to young people, since young people aged 16 and over are allowed to vote: “Europe concerns us all, especially you, the young citizens.” Getting informed is therefore essential for the future of Europe.

In order to inform the public about the European Union and the importance of the European elections, the “EUropaTour Bavaria 2024” will be on tour from April 8th to May 20th and June 1st and 2nd.

The tour stops in a total of 43 municipalities in all administrative districts of Bavaria.

Under the slogan “Choose your future” there are learning and discussion courses, workshops, citizens' forums, simulation games, the multimedia format “Dokulive”, a photo box, live podcasts, competitions, a video diary and a children's program.

The organizer of the EUropaTour is the Bavarian State Chancellery, cooperation partners include the state headquarters for political education work, the liaison office of the European Parliament in Munich and the representation of the European Commission in Munich.

together with the district youth ring and municipal youth work.

During the week of the day commemorating the liberation from National Socialism and the end of the Second World War (May 8th), as well as the European Day for the Preservation of Peace (May 9th), several EU simulation games take place throughout the district.

At the Rhabanus-Maurus-Gymnasium St. Ottilien, the Ammersee-Gymnasium Dießen and the Wolfgang-Kubelka-Realschule Schondorf, the students were able to choose between the two topics of climate/energy policy and migration.

For one morning, 40 young people from each school immerse themselves in topics relating to the EU Parliament under expert guidance.

As a special highlight, an EU simulation game with the Ignaz-Kögler-Gymnasium will take place in the meeting room of the district office on Friday, May 10th.

Following the simulation game, District Administrator Thomas Eichinger and the two state parliament members Gabriele Triebel and Alex Dorow as well as District Councilor Kathrin Grabmüller will be available for a discussion with the students from 12:00 p.m.

Patron District Administrator Thomas Eichinger is looking forward to seeing how the young people contribute their ideas and visions for Europe in this simulated political environment.
