The Frankfurt fire department responded on Wednesday because a person was seen in the Main.
However, the search remained fruitless.
Frankfurt - Shortly before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13th, the emergency call reached the Frankfurt fire department: a person had been seen in the Main near the Friedensbrücke.
The emergency services immediately deployed with special teams.
According to the police, the person was seen near the Peace Bridge.
Shortly after the emergency call, the fire department with the special water rescue unit and members of the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) are said to have arrived at the scene.
One person was spotted near the Frankfurt Peace Bridge in the Main.
Although the fire department searched for her, she was not found.

Frankfurt emergency services also searched downstream for a missing person in the Main
Without wasting any time, divers started searching near the bridge.
There was no sign of the person at this point, at least on the surface of the water.
The emergency services expanded the search area and also looked for the injured person 100 meters further downstream.
The DLRG also came to the scene with a sonar device, according to the police.
In order to make the search easier, the water police would have banned passage on the Main in this area.
However, after an hour and a half it was unsuccessfully stopped.
The police are now trying to find out how the unknown person ended up in the Main.

The DLRG regularly warns about the Main because the currents can pose a great danger even for experienced swimmers.
