After the Senate voted to reject the DNU's deregulation of the economy, different political voices expressed themselves on social networks.
Leaders of the Kirchnerist opposition celebrated the fact that a decree that "is ruining the lives of Argentines" was not approved, while the ruling party and their allies regretted that the
vote was "a step backwards
. "
The tacit alliance between La Libertad Avanza and the PRO
was not enough to achieve a majority in the Senate
, and the decree was rejected by 42 votes to 25 with four abstentions.
As soon as the result of the vote was known, social networks were flooded with reactions.
The head of the PRO Deputies block,
Cristian Ritondo
, recalled that "the Senate never rejected any of the almost 500 DNU of Kirchnerism."
"Voting against the DNU is voting against those who produce, those who invest, the owners and those who rent, the workers and all of us who want Argentina to change forever. It
is not voting against Milei, but to vote against the Argentines
," he wrote in X.
"A
big step back
for Argentina," he added in another post.
Francisco Paoltroni
, Formosa senator from La Libertad Avanza, admitted to
TN
that "the result was within what was expected" and that "the budget cut on Tuesday with the vice president's resolution had a lot of impact."
On the other hand, the senator from Unión por la Patria Mariano Recalde celebrated the rejection of the
DNU "which is ruining the lives of Argentinians
. "
Furthermore, he called on the Chamber of Deputies to follow that path: "
It is urgent and necessary to repeal this decree
," he ironically stated.
UxP deputy
Victoria Tolosa Paz
also celebrated that "
the Argentine people win
" with the rejection of a DNU that "attacks the rights of Argentines."
"Now it is up to the deputies
to definitively stop this mamotreto
, which since it came into force has done nothing but impoverish the people and harm the productive, social and cultural development of Argentina," said the former Minister of Social Development.
The left-wing representative and deputy
Nicolás del Caño
said that the
defeat of Javier Milei was "categorical"
and called for a national strike and plan of struggle.
Already during the session, social networks had been filled with mentions of Senator Martín Lousteau.
Officials and recognized militants of La Libertad Avanza targeted the head of the national UCR, first, for rejecting the postponement of the treatment and, then, for advancing his vote against the decree.
And Javier Milei joined those questions with retweets and likes.
"Lousteau (in red) voted the same as Alicia Kirchner, Wado de Pedro, Oscar Parrilli, Mariano Recalde, Juan Manzur and José Mayans, among other Kirchnerists. Things in their right place...", Javier Lanari wrote on Twitter, Undersecretary of Press of the Presidency.
One of the numerous messages that Milei replied in his profile against the radical senator.
Javier Lanari questioned Lousteau about the Senate session on the DNU and Javier Milei retweeted it.
The treatment of the DNU in the Upper House had been
questioned by Javier Milei himself
this Wednesday, when details of the session were being defined.
In a strong statement, the President targeted the "caste" for managing its own agenda and, with the authorization of the session, opening a door to the eventual declaration of invalidity of the decree.
That message was understood as a cross against the head of the Senate, Vice President Victoria Villarruel, although from the Casa Rosada they tried to deny an internal one.
