The Norwegian royals are die-hard winter sports fans.
A surprise guest joined them in the stands at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival.
Holmenkollen – For many winter sports fans it is the highlight of the year: The famous ski festival has just taken place at Holmenkollen near Oslo, which attracts athletes and fans from all over the world.
The Norwegian royals also didn't miss the event: Last Saturday (March 9th) Queen Sonja (86), Crown Prince Haakon (50), Crown Princess Mette-Marit (50) and their children Prince Sverre Magnus (18) and Princess visited Ingrid Alexandra (20) attended the international sporting event near the capital - but the Norwegians were not alone.

This was not a member of the Norwegian royal family.
Instead, Queen Margrethe of Denmark (83) took a seat in the stands.
Photos show the former monarch in a good mood between the young Norwegian royals Prince Sverre Magnus and Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

Queen Margrethe is a second cousin of King Harald (87) and is very close to the Norwegian royal family.

“The operation was successful and the king is doing well.
“The king will remain in hospital for a few more days,” the palace announced on Tuesday (March 12) about King Harald’s health.
This may also be why Queen Margrethe used her trip to Norway to visit her sick cousin.
