Having Artificial Intelligence skills can increase your salary by 30% and yet in Europe 81% of employers cannot find qualified staff: these are some of the data that emerge from the study carried out by Amazon Web Services and Access Partnership on the impact of AI in the world of work.

The research also shows that 86% of employers believe that AI will play a key role within their company by 2038.

AI is having and will have a huge impact in the world of work, redefining the activities of all workers and to analyze its evolution the study carried out a survey of over 6,500 employees and 2,000 employers in various sectors in France, Germany , Spain and the United Kingdom.

“The study shows that artificial intelligence skills can significantly improve productivity and wages across Europe,” observes Alessandra Antonelli, Country Leader of AWS Italia.

In fact, surveys indicate that the employers interviewed would be willing to pay an average of 30% more for workers with AI skills, an interest which - underlines the report - is not limited only to young people.

Hiring staff with these skills would be a priority for 60% of employers surveyed, but 81% say they can't find the staff they need.

A deficiency confirmed by workers, only 14% of them believe they have an advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence, while 50% consider themselves to have "basic" or "nascent" knowledge of artificial intelligence.

The survey thus confirms that employers face an AI skills gap that can only be filled through training.

Among the most requested skills, according to 51% of employers interviewed, are critical thinking and solving complex problems followed by creative thinking, both necessary to use AI tools correctly.

"Embracing AI - continued Antonelli - is not just about adopting new technologies: it's about empowering people."
