RTL is now planning an over-60 dating show where seniors can apply now.
Cologne – As we all know, it is never too late for love.
RTL has now taken this saying literally and created a new dating show from it: “The Bachelor” for seniors!
After spin-offs such as “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” have proven successful, the Cologne private broadcaster has now set its sights on a new concept.
Over-60s dating show “The Golden Bachelor”: RTL imitates US broadcaster
“Soon a single man in his prime will be looking for true love,” it says on the RTL website.
However, the idea is not new: “The Golden Bachelor” was broadcast with great success in the USA last year.
72-year-old widower Gerry Turner was ensnared by 22 women aged between 60 and 75.
In the end, candidate Theresa Nist (70) received the final rose – and a marriage proposal.
The TV stars have now crowned their love with a dream wedding.
The broadcaster ABC wants to build on the success of its male counterpart with “The Golden Bachelorette” this fall.
“The Bachelor” for seniors: RTL is calling for casting
Apparently RTL also dreams of being able to show a similarly romantic love story.
“We’re starting the casting now.
Anyone over the age of 60 can apply,” it says in a statement.
The casting call again reads: “From now on, golden roses will also bloom.
It's never too late to fall in love: The Golden Bachelor gives out the roses for the first time.
A dream man in his prime and 20 women embark on the journey of their lives.”
He is the model for the new RTL show: Widower Gerry Turner (72) was ensnared by 22 women and chose Theresa Nist (70).

It is not known when exactly the German “Golden Bachelor” will start.
Two bachelors are currently looking for true love on RTL.
In the last episode of “The Bachelors”, Dennis Gries (30) and Sebastian Klaus (36) enjoyed their dream dates in Mauritius.
Next week (Wednesday, March 20th) things will get serious: the very last roses will be awarded in the finale, and viewers can already see this on RTL+.
RTL has also already taken a position on another season of “Bachelors”.
