Nothing worked in the post office at Garmisch-Partenkirchner train station: customers stood in front of closed doors for several days.

A defective data line was to blame for the post office in Garmisch-Partenkirchen being closed for four days - to the annoyance of many customers.
After operations started again on Wednesday, it was over again on Thursday.
This time because of a company meeting.

From day to day she, like others, was put off with notes on the door.
Many people in Garmisch-Partenkirchen felt the same way as the pensioner.
The post office at the train station was closed from Friday to Tuesday - without any reasonable indication as to why and, above all, for how long.
“We were able to reopen on Wednesday morning,” says Oliver Rittmaier, spokesman for Postbank.
The reason for the closure, which was not communicated accordingly to the dismay of the affected customers, was “a failure of our provider’s data line”.
This is required for the self-service devices as well as for the cash register systems and the computers, "that's why we couldn't open and the ATM didn't work either."
His apology for the short-term closure and the inconvenience comes late - and only after Tagblatt asked.
Closed again due to a company meeting
After the business premises were accessible for one day, Rittmaier had to appeal to customers again yesterday, Thursday.
This time because of a company meeting.
While customers who only need postal services were able to use the partner branches in various supermarkets, everyone who, like the pensioner, wanted to pick up a shipment or needed something from the Postbank was left out.
This time at least the self-service area was available.
According to Rittmaier, normal operations should resume this Friday and next week.
“For shipments that were ready to be picked up in the branch during the closure, we will extend the storage period accordingly,” he announces.
This leaves enough time to get them.
