This Thursday there will be another test alarm at various levels.

Fürstenfeldbruck - The next nationwide siren test alarm will take place on Thursday (March 14th).

On this day, the Ministry of the Interior across Bavaria, together with the participating districts, independent cities and municipalities, is testing the warning devices in a joint exercise with which the population should be informed of impending dangers in the event of an emergency.

The district office points this out in a statement.

Various warning devices

From 11 a.m., various warning devices such as digital city display boards or warning apps (such as NINA) will be activated.

The district authority announced that the so-called “Cell Broadcast” will again be triggered in parallel.

Cell Broadcast is an alert message sent directly to your cell phone without the need for an app.

Receipt of this message requires that the cell phone/smartphone has the latest updates and is switched on (no airplane mode!) at the time the alert is sent.

Older devices may not be able to receive the alert.

A list of the devices capable of receiving can be found on the homepage of the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (www.bbk.bund.de).

Sirens

The test alarm also tests the existing sirens at the municipal level, which are capable of emitting a signal to warn the population (a one-minute rising and falling howling tone), according to the district office.

In the Fürstenfeldbruck district, the construction or retrofitting of corresponding sirens has so far only been completely completed in the municipality of Eichenau and in the Fürstenfeldbruck urban area (including the districts of Aich and Puch).

Therefore, no siren warning will be heard in the other municipalities.

Those interested can find further information about the nationwide siren test alarm on the homepage of the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior.
