The prices for solar systems are currently at an all-time low.
The favorable conditions are not well received by homeowners everywhere.
Munich - After the great interest as a result of the energy crisis, inflation and high interest rates have resulted in lower prices for customers - theoretically.
The discounts do not always reach the customers.
There are big differences depending on the provider.
A big problem when buying solar systems is the lack of transparency in prices.
The differences are sometimes enormous.
This emerges from research by the
Handelsblatt
, which obtained offers from some large online platforms.
Depending on the offer, the discrepancy is between 10,000 and 15,000 euros.
The costs for a solar system with storage with an output of 5 to 5.5 kilowatts peak for the market leader Enpal are 22,000 euros.
The competitors Otovo and Zolar are almost 10,000 euros less.
Prices for solar systems vary enormously: a lack of transparency is a big problem for homeowners
A local installer from Stuttgart also made it into the
Handelsblatt
comparison .
With 15,829 euros it is in the middle of the field.
“With the big names, it’s not just the PV system that depends on it, but also costs for marketing, sales, software and so on,” another company explained to the
Handelsblatt
.
Anyone who wants to build a solar system on their house can benefit from low prices - but not everywhere.

The price for photovoltaic systems differs depending on the type and roof of the house.
The manufacturers of the necessary parts also play a role.
The Handelsblatt notes that the cheaper online providers Zolar and Otovo used German products, while Enpal used parts from China.
Not all solar system providers pass on low prices to customers
The fall in the price of solar systems themselves also plays an important role.
Some manufacturers pass this on to customers.
“In the past few months we have reduced our overall price by 30 percent,” Sarah Müller, managing director of Zolar, told
Handelsblatt
.
At Otovo it is 50 percent.
Enpal, on the other hand, states that prices have “not changed significantly” in recent months.
However, Enpal defends itself to the
Handelsblatt
and points out that a discount of up to 6,000 euros is often offered after individual examination.
“Instead of luring customers with supposedly low prices, which only later turn out to be purely promotional offers in the installation process, the customer ultimately receives a significantly lower price than announced in the offer,”

quoted a company spokesman as saying.
Homeowners should get multiple quotes when purchasing solar systems
Accordingly, many providers only informed their customers about additional costs for scaffolding, electrics or other services shortly before installation.
The
consumer advice center
also recommends that customers check in the cost estimate whether all necessary components and work are listed in the costs for installation and network connection.
The offers should be as precise as possible.
The possible costs of the scaffolding and the conversion of the meter cabinet should also be stated.
