One person was killed and three others were injured Thursday in Ukrainian strikes targeting the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, said regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
This statement comes as the Russian Ministry of Defense indicated that it had destroyed 14 Ukrainian drones overnight over the Belgorod region and that of Kursk, which also borders Ukraine.

Drone attacks targeting Russian territory have increased in recent days, in the run-up to the presidential election, scheduled for March 15-17 in Russia and which should see President Vladimir Putin triumph for a new six-year term.

in the Belgorod region, Mr. Gladkov wrote on Telegram, specifying that ambulances went to the scene to provide assistance to two women and one man injured.

In the town of Belgorod, two houses and a medical facility were damaged by the strikes, according to the same source.
For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry indicated that it had prevented
