A dramatic increase in the classified activity of the aerospace industry: the company's annual report published yesterday (Wednesday) reveals that the activity in the field of projects that it is not authorized to report on took about 5% of the company's revenues in 2023, and will jump to about 15% of its revenues in 2024 and 2025.

IAI is a government company, but because it issued bonds on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, it publishes financial data like a commercial company that issued shares.

In the report, the company states that in light of the sensitivity of some of the transactions, it is exempt from mentioning the names of their customers, but publishes the type of weapons it sold and the scope of the transaction.

However, in areas covered under the confidentiality order set for the company, it does not specify at all what exactly it sold and to whom, apart from general economic data and the effects of the area on its entire activity.

In 2023, the company's sales jumped by 7%, crossing the $5 billion mark for the first time, reaching $5.327 billion, while recording a record profit of $318 million.

A company official noted that "part of the increase in sales this year was an increase in sales to the Ministry of Defense, mainly in projects that were planned in advance, including in sensitive areas."

The meaning of the report is that this year and next year the company's classified revenues will jump from about NIS 1 billion in the past year, to about NIS 3 billion this year and next year, an amount that indicates a large contract in the sensitive field that is worth to the company about NIS 2 billion a year.

According to foreign publications, the aerospace industry produces ballistic missiles of the Jericho type, which are capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and are part of Israel's nuclear deterrent against enemy countries such as Iran.

According to publications, the first generation of Jericho missiles was developed in France in the 1960s by Dassault, but due to the embargo after the Six Day War, their production was transferred to Israel and entrusted to the Aerospace Industry.

According to the publications, since then the company has developed new generations of the missile.

Later in the decade, the Navy will receive three new Dolphin submarines of the Decker series built by Thyssenkrupp Shipyards in Germany, with a record cost of 3 billion euros.

A visualization of the submarines published by the shipyard shows a particularly long structure for the bridge of the submarines, the part that is located in the upper part and is usually used to carry communication and intelligence equipment.

The simulation led to publications in Germany according to which a new component, originally developed for submarines ordered from ThyssenKrupp South Korea, will be installed in the new submarines, and which enables the vertical launch of missiles from the submarine - a launch method accepted for ballistic missiles, such as in US, Russian and British submarines.
