Special envoy to Lorient
The sea in the spotlight.
For fifteen years, the Pêcheurs du monde Film Festival has brought Lorient out of hibernation.
The 16th edition, which takes place from this Friday until March 24, will be no exception.
This year's theme, "The fisherman, the sea and the plate", is used in no less than 45 films.
“The festival offers a global and current vision of the sea and the challenges faced by the people who work there,”
underlines its president, Jacques Cherel.
If it is exported to several municipalities, the event keeps Lorient as its home port.
It is not for nothing that the city of Morbihan has become the “
city of six ports
” (commerce, military, fishing, pleasure, passenger transport, ocean racing).
It is seafood that dominates the Merville halls, an unmissable covered market.
In the fishing port, it is still the freshly landed fish and seafood that attracts the curious to the Moulin Marée fishmonger.
