But a lot also changed for the employees.

For many, the events have apparently led to a fundamental rethinking of their own work situation.

At least that's what a new study that has now been published shows.

Accordingly, not only are many people now questioning their jobs, many are even at the point where they have already mentally resigned.

Expert Enzo Weber from the Institute for Labor Market and Occupational Research in Nuremberg also confirms that there is a greater willingness to change in the labor market than during Corona times.

In his view, this is a normalization to pre-pandemic levels.

Employees change jobs when there are good opportunities on the labor market, explained Weber.

“That is currently the case.” Companies are also hiring more and recruiting workers elsewhere.

Another reason for the increased willingness to change could be that employees are no longer satisfied with their jobs or there are upheavals so that they are looking for more lucrative employment - as is currently happening with digitalization.

“This is something that happens in transformation.

“I wouldn’t see that as a warning signal,” emphasized Weber.

According to the Gallup survey, employee loyalty and trust in their company's prospects have recently declined.

According to this, 19 percent of those surveyed said they had no emotional connection to their employer - the highest level since 2012. Extrapolated to employees aged 18 and over in Germany, that's 7.3 million employees who had internally quit, Gallup said .

At the same time, only around 40 percent said in the survey that they had complete confidence in their employer's financial future - so, with the exception of a high during the Corona period, this value has been falling for years.

Meanwhile, it's not just many employees who are dissatisfied.

The situation is also difficult for employers.

The German economy is in decline - companies such as an electric car manufacturer are repeatedly filing for bankruptcy.
