Details about Germany's Taurus capacities become public.

FDP defense politician Strack-Zimmermann is beside herself.

What does the Chancellor know?

Berlin – In the wake of the Taurus leaks, secret details from a special meeting of the Defense Committee have been published.

The chairwoman of the committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, demands consequences and wants to involve the public prosecutor.

“Revealing information from a secret meeting is a no-go.

We hope that we will identify the person in question and that they will then feel the consequences,” said the FDP defense politician to the

Süddeutsche Zeitung

.

Bundestag President Bärbel Bas (SPD) will also be informed immediately;

She will then “give everything to the federal police or public prosecutor,” said Strack-Zimmermann.

According to the newspaper, there is suspicion of betrayal of secrets;

Specifically, it is about technical details about target data planning in the secret part of the meeting by the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, Carsten Breuer.

Olaf Scholz probably has reasons for his veto - there are very few systems for Taurus data

The news portal

t-online

had previously reported on the relevant excerpt from the special session, citing a “person familiar with the process”.

This was scheduled last Monday (March 11) in response to the Russian eavesdropping attack.

According to the portal, the Inspector General explained the technical and operational procedures for targeting the Taurus cruise missiles.

It requires complex amounts of data, which therefore have to be processed by special technical systems.

However, there are only very few of these systems;

If they were delivered to Ukraine, the Bundeswehr's ability to defend the country would be reduced.

The matter also sheds new light on the constant rejection of a Taurus delivery by Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SDP).

So far he had mainly argued that target control of the cruise missile was only possible with the help of Bundeswehr soldiers.

In order to rule out deployment against Russian territory, soldiers would have to be sent to Ukraine - and thus risk Germany becoming involved as a warring party;

so you are not allowed to deliver.

A threat to Germany's security interests, as

made known by the

t-online report, would be a reason for the Chancellor's negative attitude that has not yet been publicly stated.

Taurus exchange of blows in the Bundestag - Scholz is annoyed that Röttgen knows but acts differently

This was already hinted at on Wednesday (March 13th), when Scholz accused CDU politician Norbert Röttgen in the Bundestag of demanding delivery of the weapon against his better knowledge.

It annoys him that Röttgen knows “everything” but doesn’t act differently.

He has secret knowledge that is not allowed to be discussed.

Outwardly he communicates something different;

But his argument only works because this knowledge is not public.

Röttgen rejected the allegations and accused the Chancellor of always finding new excuses instead of explaining the true motives of his politics.

Instead of playing with “clear cards”, Scholz aims to “deceive the public on this issue - on a question of European and national security”.

He knows nothing himself and is not keeping anything from the public.

Strack-Zimmermann “doesn’t know” - Has the Chancellor been keeping something secret all this time?

The next day, Strack-Zimmermann told the broadcaster

ntv

that she “didn’t know what Mr. Scholz could have meant.”

There are “only facts” and they are “crystal clear on the table”.

Therefore, on Thursday (March 14th) she voted as she did the first time when voting on a new request from the Union to make the long-range weapon available to Kiev.

“You know my opinion, you know my behavior, and I won’t change that,” the FDP politician continued.
