At the end of the year, 4,448 people lived in the Bockhorn community.
And these should be fine.
In order to continue to offer a home in the community, sufficient living space, good local amenities and school attendance play an important role.
That is the credo of town hall boss Lorenz Angermaier.
At the citizens' meeting in the Gasthaus Weber, he informed the numerous visitors primarily about these three subject areas.
Bockhorn – And it quickly became clear: Angermaier and the local council are not lacking in work, numerous projects need to be realized.
The municipality spends a lot of money on this.
But the best job for him is honoring deserving firefighters.
Matthias Stürzer and Martin Widmann have each been active at the Eschlbach fire department for 25 years, while Markus Baumgartner and Christian Strasser have been active in Kirchasch for a quarter of a century each.
As a thank you, Angermaier and Deputy Mayor Thomas Fisch presented the honorees with mugs and certificates.
Alois Lentner (Eschlbach) as well as Maximilian Ernst, Franz Mair, Martin Rauch, Manfred Schwinghammer and Georg Wernhart (Kirch-asch) each completed 40 years of service.
They were delighted to receive certificates and steles.

Bockhorn is investing six million euros to realize the construction areas.
“We are making huge advance payments, including the purchase of land in Kirchasch and the provision of Bockhorn building land for the supermarket.
“This is money that we take out of the cash register and invest in real estate,” explained Angermaier.
Development is underway in Kirchasch.
The areas should be ready for construction from September.
In the first tranche, the municipality will allocate six properties according to the “Guidelines for the Allocation of Building Land”, popularly known as the “locals model”.
“Our goal is the young Bockhorn family who want to settle here,” says Angermaier.
The municipality would like to offer the remaining 19 properties again as needed.
For the six discounted areas that are now being sold, “we are close to the notary appointment”.
The original plan included gas heating, but that is a thing of the past.
Now the supply of local heat is to be realized based on wood chips and as booster gas.
A corresponding heating network will be incorporated into the development planning.
A heating plant with three containers, a dump trough and a burner is to be built between the cemetery and the football field.
The municipality works together with Energie Südbayern GmbH (ESB) Erding.
Meanwhile, the new KSC sports center should be ready in the summer.
The municipality also has improving local supplies at the top of its agenda.
Together with a project developer, a concept is being developed for a full-range retailer (Edeka) and the construction of a residential area in the main town of Bockhorn.
“It’s a matter of give and take,” says Angermaier.
We have to do justice to both sides.
Around 30 residential units are to be built on the project developer's residential building site, which will then be sold on the open market.
In addition, the community secures an area for future building land.
The aim is that the statutory resolution for the “shopping and living” development plan can be passed at the beginning of 2025.
Under the title “School Living Space”, the primary school on Obere Hauptstrasse is being made fit for the future.
This also includes the open all-day school.
“And it’s bursting at the seams.
It’s still working at the moment, but there’s no room for the future,” said Angermaier.
In addition, the gas heating system has been around for 30 years and the gymnasium is too small and in need of renovation.
The solution: a basic concept.
This includes the construction of a new gymnasium in place of the current teachers' residence.
The previous gymnasium will be replaced by a new school extension.
And the existing building will be converted and completely renovated in terms of energy efficiency.
The entire project period is estimated to be seven years.
“We are talking about a project worth around 20 million euros,” says Angermaier.
About half comes from the municipality.
The tenants of the teachers' residence already know.
“We will find a solution,” promised Angermaier.
