He had 18 kittens in the trunk.
Waidhaus - In the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district, the federal police stopped an illegal animal transport on the A6 near Waidhaus.
As the police announced on Friday, March 15, the officers had heard loud cat whining coming from the trunk while checking a van that was traveling from the Czech Republic to Germany.
When the police looked there, they discovered 18 young cats crammed into six transport boxes.

18 kittens in the trunk: man wanted to take them to Paris
When asked what he planned to do with the animals, the 37-year-old driver of the van said he was transporting the cats to Paris for an acquaintance.
According to police, the man also presented fake vaccination certificates for the animals.
The import of young animals is also prohibited under the Animal Health Act, the statement continued.
For these reasons, the twelve-week-old kittens were seized by the police and then handed over to an animal shelter.
The owner is now facing charges of fraud and a violation of the Animal Health Act.
