After a suspected theft by Italian football fans, the search is in full swing.

Six people are the focus of the investigation.

Regensburg - On Thursday, March 14th, the police were alerted at around 8:30 a.m. by employees of a rest area on the A 93 near Regensburg.

They reported that a large number of items had been stolen from Italian football fans.

The approximately 220 fans then continued on four buses.

The police stop four buses full of Italian football fans on the A6.

The suspicion: mass theft at a rest area.

But the stolen goods remain untraceable.

Buses are stopped north of Regensburg - 100 police officers on duty

The police immediately initiated searches and were finally able to stop the buses on the A6 north of Regensburg.

Over 100 police officers from the Upper Palatinate police and the federal police were on duty during this large-scale check.

A police drone was also used.

During the inspection, the identities of the people on the buses were established.

However, the stolen goods could not be found.

After the police measures were completed, the fans were allowed to continue their journey.

The investigation to identify the perpetrators is still ongoing, with six people currently suspected.

According to current investigations, the damage caused by the theft is significant.

The Regensburg traffic police station has now started investigations into shoplifting in at least six cases.
