SPD parliamentary group leader Mützenich fired against the coalition partners in his speech on the Taurus debate - and received more than just a shake of the head.
Berlin - In yesterday's vote, 495 of 690 members of the Bundestag voted against the CDU and CSU's proposal to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz maintained his rejection of the delivery on the grounds that Germany could be drawn into the war against Russia.
In particular, his party colleague and SPD parliamentary group leader Rolf Mützenich supported Scholz with his speech and dealt against the opposition and coalition partners, to which Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock reacted visibly annoyed.
The Green politician frowned when Mützenich emphasized that Germany, with its “humanity and humanity,” was already doing a lot for Ukraine and shook her head when the SPD parliamentary group leader called for dialogue with non-European countries that “take a different look.” on the war in Ukraine.
When Mützenich praised the “intelligence, prudence and clarity” of the Chancellor, who traveled to China to see President Xi Jinping at the end of last year despite criticism, Baerbock was already on his cell phone.

Mützenich on Baerbock's Ukraine course: too little diplomacy
In his speech, Mützenich emphasized that Olaf Scholz was “at the side” of the Chinese President when he reaffirmed “the nuclear taboo” in order to prevent Russia from using a nuclear weapon.
The
New York Times
recently reported that the threat of Russia using nuclear weapons in Ukraine in October was more real than expected.
Mützenich was not very well-disposed towards Baerbock at the time: the politician had described the Foreign Minister's statements about the Chancellor's trip to China as "rude" and "unprecedented".
Mützenich also criticized Baerbock's Ukraine course outside of Scholz's trip to China.
Speaking to the
ZDF
format “Berlin Direkt”, he accused her of doing too little to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
Another time, Mützenich questioned Baerbock's statement in the Council of Europe in which the Foreign Minister said that a “war against Russia” was being waged.
Baerbock's statement was "only useful for propaganda in Moscow," he accused her in the
ARD
program "Report from Berlin".
“At war with the constitution” – Kubicki sharply criticizes Mützenich’s speech
Baerbock's visibly annoyed reactions to Mützenich's speech were not the only ones.
The FDP vice-party leader Wolfgang Kubicki also made his comments very clear afterwards.
He criticized
Mützenich's "ideal approach that the Chancellor's party should steer the conscience of the coalition MPs in a direction that suits it" to the

In his speech, Mützenich described it as “malicious” to use terms such as “security risk” or “untruth” in connection with Chancellor Scholz.
Kubicki commented on the statements of the SPD parliamentary group leader: "Anyone like Mr Mützenich who demands 'consequences' for voting behavior he dislikes is at least at war with our constitution."
