Around 170 people attended the Bayrischzell citizens' meeting.
The main interest was probably the upcoming full closure of the federal highway.
The mayor announced a solution.
Bayrischzell
– “I’m happy that so many people are there,” said Georg Kittenrainer.
“That’s over ten percent of our population.
I think there have never been so many.” The mayor was pleased and proud when he praised the great interest: “This is democracy in action.” Kittenrainer divided his two-hour review and outlook into the three topics of community, tourism and road renovation on the B 307. The latter in particular was probably one of the reasons why there was such a high number of visitors this year.
After each of the blocks, he gave the listeners the opportunity to have their say with opinions and questions.
In the first block of topics, Kittenrainer commented on the political situation and the refugee situation.
There are currently 55 asylum seekers and refugees from Ukraine living in the community of 1,730 people.
In Osterhofen, the district office is currently putting a second accommodation into operation for 14 more people.
“The integration of people is even more important than accommodation,” emphasized the town hall boss.
“Things are going very well for us at the moment.” However, with regard to communities with large accommodation facilities, he can understand “that they have great concerns.”
No need to worry about primary school
The community does not currently have to worry about the Bayrischzell primary school location, which has been an issue again and again in the past.
As Kittenrainer explained, things are looking good at the moment.
There are currently 48 students, divided into two mixed-age classes, attending the local school, which is legally affiliated with the one in Elbach.
The kindergarten with two groups and the after-school care center are also well attended.
“All Bayrischzell children were able to be admitted this year.” There are still three places available in the daycare center and four in the after-school care center for September.
After an hour's lecture, Kittenrainer answered the first questions from citizens: former mayor Martin Auracher doubted the effectiveness of the planned renovation of the old sewage treatment plant, and he considered it more sensible to "consider connecting to Fischbachau".
The town hall boss had to deny this: the construction work alone would be three million euros more expensive.
In addition, according to the Ministry of the Environment, the concept would not be eligible for funding, “and is out of the question for cost reasons,” emphasized Kittenrainer.
Katrin Eymer wanted to know where additional living space is planned.
First and foremost, the community would like to use the old railway site for residential development.
Furthermore, the playground area by the swimming pool is available, explained Kittenrainer.
The problem with housing construction at the moment: “If a developer builds without subsidies, the rental price is 16 to 18 euros per square meter,” he said.
“That is anything but affordable.” Therefore, the community wants to tackle the issue itself.
“I hope we can do that on the railway site.
And if it doesn’t work there, we’ll do it in a smaller way somewhere else.”
Winter “extremely low snow”: Modest cross-country skiing season
Monika Häusler wanted to know what would happen to the multifunctional area at the swimming pool.
A neighbor is currently suing, Kittenrainer reported.
The court hearing will take place on March 19th.
“If the location lasts, the space stays.
Otherwise we’ll have to think of something else.”
In the tourist section, the mayor reported, among other things, that due to the “extremely little snow” winter, the cross-country skiing season and ski operations on the Tannerfeld were “very manageable”.
It started off well in the first Advent, “but then it quickly came to an end because the foehn licked all the snow away again.”
Despite the poor conditions, operations were possible on the Sudelfeld for 95 days (see interview on next page).
On the renovation of the B307: As reported, the approximately six-week work by the Rosenheim road construction authority will begin on April 8th with a complete closure.
The route between Aurach and Bayrischzell is only passable from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on weekdays.
The municipality has therefore drawn up a detour plan on single-lane secondary roads using traffic lights for residents and those who work in the area.
Depending on the construction phase, via the Krugalm, Geitau, Osterhofen or even on the cycle path along the main road.
You can drive out of the valley on the hour and in on the half hour for 15 minutes each.
Kittenrainer: “It is a plannable way to circumvent the unforeseeable closure.” Because a detour “via the Sudelfeld would be crazy”.
The municipality will publish the respective construction phases with their diversions on its homepage.
