Oberau – A cyclist was hit by a car in Oberau and seriously injured.
An analytical report will now clarify how the serious traffic accident could have occurred.
The collision occurred on Thursday afternoon around 4:45 p.m. on Münchner Straße.
According to a press release, several uninvolved witnesses told the police that the cyclist, an 88-year-old from Oberau, wanted to cross the street at a pedestrian traffic light.
He was hit by the car driven by a 73-year-old Farchanter.
Car driver remains uninjured - road closed for several hours
The emergency services took the seriously injured Oberauer to the Murnau accident clinic.
The car driver was uninjured, but his car was totaled.
The road in the town had to be closed for several hours and the Oberau fire department and police set up a diversion.
In addition to three police patrols, a total of eight rescue workers, an emergency doctor and the Oberau volunteer fire department with 15 personnel were on duty.
Due to the severity of the collision, the Garmisch-Partenkirchen police station, which also recorded the accident, is now investigating the cause of the collision under the leadership of the Munich II public prosecutor's office.
She has already commissioned the relevant expert report for this purpose.
