"I fear that there are no conditions for the normal carrying out of teaching activities. It was a very violent gang action by elements outside the university. To my memory, an episode of this magnitude and these types of circumstances had never occurred in the Philosophy Department of Wisdom".
This is what Donatella Di Cesare, a philosophy teacher at La Sapienza, told ANSA in reference to the invasion of "about ten Forza Italia Giovani militants" into the classroom.
"The sanctity of the courtroom, which the competent bodies should protect, has been violated", adds DiCesare.
"During my lesson of the three-year course, which I take in classroom I - he says - about ten militants from Forza Italia Giovani suddenly burst in, holding up written signs. With almost military moves and gestures they blocked the entrance and prevented the lesson from taking place. I was afraid that clashes could arise with the numerous students present in my course. I managed to maintain control of the situation. We had to wait for them to finally leave the classroom. Only afterwards, and with great effort for myself and for the students, was I able to resume the lesson and complete it to 4.00 pm. The students are deeply affected by what has happened. I wonder what will happen next week."
