The
subway increase scheduled for early April will be postponed to May
due to a connection failure in the public hearing for the ticket, a mandatory step before establishing the increase.
As the call must be advertised at least twenty business days in advance,
the new appointment will only be made in the first days of April
and the entire scheme of the three increases established by the City would be disrupted.
The subway was scheduled to cost $574 in April, compared to
the $125 it currently costs
.
But for its approval, the increase had to go through a series of previous steps that will now be delayed due to the failure at the hearing.
"The official transmission of the public hearing for the ticket failed and a new call must be made. It cannot have a period of less than 20 days. The increase arranged for April is SUSPENDED," announced Buenos Aires legislator Juan Manuel Valdés, from Unión for my country.
Valdés explained to

Public Services of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires wanted to call an intermission room until the problem was solved, with the aim of ensuring that the audience did not fall.

Articles 43 and 44 of Law 6 - which regulates the Institute of Public Hearing - state that "in the event that the Hearing is convened under the virtual or mixed modality, prior to its start the implementing body
must organize the means telematics in order to achieve the greatest possible citizen participation
and the adequate transmission of the Hearing.”
Furthermore, the text says that "the implementing agency must publicize the call for a Public Hearing
no less than twenty (20) business days
in advance of the date set for its holding."
Thus, if the hearing is called next Monday,
it would only take place on April 18
.
In this way, the increase will not be possible until the beginning of May.
And the schedule established by the City Government would be affected, by which the April increase would be followed by two other increases: one in May, up to $667 per trip;
and another in June, until reaching $757.
