In many places the shortage of educators is reaching dramatic proportions.
In Upper Bavaria, several daycare centers are now facing closure.
Sachrang – “Unfortunately, the personnel crisis in the Aschau municipality is still very acute,” writes the Catholic Kita Association Chiemsee in a press release on its website.
The job advertisements are looking for three employees - an educator as facility manager, an educator as group leader and a childcare worker as a supplementary worker (all male/female).
The problem: The precarious situation has existed for a long time.
Now the daycare center is even threatened with closure, reports BR.
That would be a catastrophe for the local families.
Dramatic situation in the Rosenheim district – does the first kindergarten have to close?
According to BR, the St. Michael kindergarten in Sachrang in the Rosenheim district is threatened with closure on May 1st.
But that's not enough.
Three other kindergartens in the community are in precarious situations - if no staff can be found, there is a risk of losing 50 to 80 daycare places.
This is a catastrophe, mayor Simon Frank tells BR.
Easter is just around the corner and soon kindergartens will be busy painting eggs again.
But the idyllic picture is sometimes deceptive - because behind the facade there is something dramatic.

Basically all larger local families are affected by the dramatic situation.
Because of the high rents, both parents often have to work or to pay off loans - they all rely on kindergartens.
After all: There is a new vocational school for child care in Rosenheim.
It is now important to follow suit with the educators.
Single-group kindergartens in particular are facing major problems.
According to the law, two carers must always be present, writes the BR.
With enormous responsibility, additional costs and high personnel costs, the profit is only slightly higher.
Groups are being merged more and more often - also in the Rosenheim district.
This is now also planned in real terms.

Lack of daycare staff in Bavaria – fear is spreading
Meanwhile, the shortage of educators does not stop at the big cities.
According to BR, for example, the large day care center “Rehkitz” in Munich had to close due to a lack of staff.
Ten parents had to look for a new place for their children.
A desirable process for neither parents nor children.
There is currently no view of the situation in the entire Free State based on numbers - the survey effort would be too great, writes the BR.
But news of kindergartens being merged and those at risk of closure is increasing, and providers are regularly sounding the alarm.

In the Rosenheim district, no kindergarten has had to close yet, Mayor Frank reports to BR.
He is also not yet planning on reusing the beautiful old building, which currently houses the St. Michael kindergarten.
But the situation is precarious.
