Taufkirchen

- The Taufkirchen fire department association is now firmly in the hands of the Pentek family: Markus Pentek is promoted to chairman and inherits Lena Blumoser, who did not stand for election for personal reasons and tearfully announced her departure.

The deputy chairman is Pentek's brother Thomas.

This was the result of the new election at the annual general meeting in the Citizens' Hall.

A constant on the board is Johannes Brenninger, who continues to hold the position of treasurer.

There was a second tearful farewell in the meeting: Secretary Tanja Hinterseer also withdrew.

Her successor was Markus Schulze.

The assessors are Christian Bauer and Florian Brenninger.

Team spokeswoman Nina Wagner remains in office.

“I had a lot of fun.

It's obviously difficult for me.

Thank you all for your support,” said an touched Blumoser as she said goodbye.

She looked back on an exciting year for the club, in which the Taufkirchener Wehr celebrated its 150th anniversary with, among other things, the “Night of the Blue Lights”.

Mayor Stefan Haberl thanked the members.

The volunteer work that the armed forces embody is of “invaluable value”.

At the anniversary celebration, the fire department was a “figurehead for the community.”

“I want to emphasize that we as a community stand behind you.

We also support you when it comes to finances.

And it is very important to us that you have the necessary equipment,” said the town hall boss.

In the 2024 budget year, the municipality has budgeted around three quarters of a million euros for the fire departments, said Haberl.

In his welcoming speech, district fire inspector Richard Obermaier was pleased that he could “look at so many young people”.

But he also criticized society: “Look at our environment.

Some are protesting, others are on strike.

Some don't do anything for the public.

“It’s very important that there are people who think differently,” said Obermaier, praising the commitment of his comrades.

Brenninger's cash report showed that the fire department had to finish with a significant loss - also due to the celebrations.

Income of almost 36,000 euros was recorded, including donations of almost 8,000 euros.

But you had to spend more than 50,000 euros.

The new uniforms alone cost a good 8,000 euros.

At the end of the year, the cash register still had a balance of less than 27,000 euros.

Due to high sales during the festivities, the company has now become subject to sales tax for 2024, said Brenninger.

Commander Christian Holler reported 1,811 operational hours worked last year, although the hours for vehicle and equipment maintenance and exercises were not included.

In total there are 74 active members and 28 respiratory protection wearers.

The commander reported two major pieces of bad news in the past year.

Damage was caused to the emergency fire engine.

The cost estimate for the repair was 32,000 euros.

Ultimately, however, the Magirus vehicle was repaired for 13,000 euros.

Things were worse for the turntable leader during a failed tree felling operation.

This resulted in a total loss.

Therefore, a turntable ladder was temporarily borrowed from Ebersberg.

Together with the fire departments from Dorfen and Isen, we are planning to purchase a total of three vehicles in order to keep costs as low as possible, although we are still waiting for the okay from Isen.

Holler emphasized that they only wanted to procure a new turntable ladder with Dorfen if Isen did not agree.

The new turntable ladder should be ready for use by 2028.

The swap loader vehicle could also be put into operation in May.

The conversion of the supply truck is still pending because funding for its financing has been lost.
