Highlights: Former Chief Justice Salim Jubran passed away at the age of 76. Retired Judge Jobran was appointed to serve as an acting judge in the Supreme Court in 2003. He held an honorary doctorate from the University of Haifa and a Knight of the Quality of Government in the category of the Judiciary. In his last position, Jobran served as the Deputy President of the Supreme court, a position he held until his retirement in August 2017 at the Age of 70. He is survived by his wife and two children.


Judge Jobran was appointed to the position of acting judge at the Supreme Court, after having judged at the Haifa Magistrate's Court and the city's district court for 21 years. He held an honorary doctorate from the University of Haifa and a Knight of the Quality of Government in the category of the Judiciary

Retired Chief Justice Salim Jobran passed away today (Friday) and he is 76 years old. Retired Judge Jobran was appointed to serve as an acting judge in the Supreme Court in 2003. After serving for 11 years as a judge of the Haifa Magistrate's Court, and another 10 years as a house judge District Court in Haifa.



In his last position, Jobran served as the Deputy President of the Supreme Court, a position he held until his retirement in August 2017 at the age of 70.

In 2012, Judge Jobran received an honorary doctorate from the University of Haifa, and in 2017 he received the Knight of the Quality of Government in the category of the Judiciary, on behalf of the Movement for the Quality of Government.
