Almost 2,500 euros were raised at a fundraising campaign by the parish of St. Joseph in Tutzing - because 33 children and young people gave it their all.
Tutzing - The children and young people of the Tutzinger children's and altar server group hour, which takes place weekly on Wednesdays, have once again campaigned for children and people in need this year.
Together they organized a fundraising run with pastoral officer Stefan Petry and community intern Annemarie Promberger.
This year, half of the proceeds will go to the Catholic relief organization Misereor, and the other half will go to finance the altar boys' pilgrimage to Rome, in which 27 altar boys and girls are taking part.
In total, the 33 children and young people were able to “raise” 2,490.70 euros.
Previously, the children and young people had dealt with this year's theme of the Lenten campaign, “Do I care about the bean”.
They discussed the problems that small farming families face in Colombia and what help the rural pastoral ministry of the Pasto diocese provides in this area.
The children and young people are committed to this with 382 laps.
The sports-loving participants had a total of 30 minutes to run the 260-meter-long route to the applause of enthusiastic sponsors and spectators.
And the number of laps of the fastest is impressive: youth leader Benjamin Szendi ran the route 19 times, youth leader Marco Unteregger 20 times and eleven-year-old Ferdinand Neumair took first place with a total of 23 laps.
