Candidates from Hesse also appear again and again and vie for the favor of the “model mom”.
The exciting photo shoots or spectacular runways are intended to prepare the participants for the real modeling world.
Some use the show as a springboard to a successful modeling career, even if they didn't make it to the finals.
In the current 19th season, Heidi Klum is not only looking for the next star in the fashion sky among women, but is also opening the doors to all genders.
A winner will therefore be chosen and, for the first time, a winner.
Maybe one of the winners will come from Hesse, because this year again some young models from all over the state will be competing against Heidi.
Candidates from Hesse at GNTM: Many with successful careers today
Numerous candidates apply every year for the title of Germany's Next Top Model, and young Hessian models are also well represented.
These nine former participants particularly stand out with their careers, even if they didn't make it to the final in their season.
Viviane Geppert has become an integral part of the German TV landscape.
The Wiesbaden native got a taste of show business for the first time in the second season of Germany's Next Top Model (2007).
However, at just 15 years old, she violated the broadcaster's participation requirements, which actually stipulated a minimum age of 16.
Quite by chance she was in Europapark Rust when a GNTM casting was taking place there.
Her mother cheated when registering and made her a year older.
The producers never noticed this, says Geppert in the online talk format

The journey at GNTM was short-lived for her, but she never wanted to become a model anyway.
Instead, Geppert takes a different path, but remains in the public eye.
She has been presenting various lifestyle shows on ProSieben since 2016.

From Germany's Next Top Model to reality TV: former candidates in new formats
Gina-Lisa Lohfink (2008) from Seligenstadt (Offenbach district) took part in the third season of Germany's Next Top Model.
She ultimately only reached 12th place there, but that shouldn't be an obstacle to her TV career.
After a few advertising campaigns for M&M's or Sixt and a shoot for the German Playboy, she found her true calling as a reality TV star.
In 2017 she took part in the jungle camp, and in 2018 you could follow her on TV screens in Adam sucht Eva.
This year, the Hessian native is continuing her search for true love with her new show “The wedding bells are ringing for Gina-Lisa”.

Natascha Beil (2011) caused a stir in the 6th season of GNTM with her bright red hair.
In 2018 she looked for true love on “Love Island”, and in 2023 she took part in the TV show “Beauty & the Nerd”.
Today she has returned to her roots and works in her mother's hairdressing salon in Hasselroth (Main-Kinzig district).
She gave up modeling.
Having a solid foothold is important to the trained master hairdresser after taking part in various casting shows.
Rebecca Mir (2011) also took part in the 6th season.
She took second place and has been an integral part of show business ever since.
In 2012 she danced her way to second place on Let's Dance.

Another ex-candidate of Heidi Klum found a slightly different calling after taking part in the casting show.

As a self-proclaimed fortune teller, she advertises her tarot card reading services on Instagram.
She is also the mother of a daughter, Violetta Lisboa.

Germany's Next Top Model: Former participants from Hesse are causing a stir
The 14th season of Heidi Klum's model show caused a lot of excitement.
One candidate in particular polarized like no other and allowed herself to cause a scandal that ultimately cost her her participation.
In a heated argument, Jasmin “Joy” Veit Cadete Rosado (2019) slapped her model colleague Lena.
It was the first time in the show's history that a contestant got physical.
The shock was visibly deep.
As a result, Heidi sent the woman from Frankfurt home.
Since then she has disappeared from the public eye.
Not much later, Vanessa Tamkan (2019) caused a second shock for viewers and Heidi.
Shortly before the final, for which she had actually already earned a ticket, she voluntarily dropped out and spoke harsh words against the GNTM production.
The model from Bensheim accused the broadcaster in a 15-minute video on Instagram of distorting her character and not portraying situations correctly.
Prosieben then briefly blocked her Instagram account, which she now has back.
She now works as an influencer.
Vanessa Tamkan (2019) shocked everyone with her voluntary exit from the final.

Sarah Almoril (2019) was eliminated in 7th place in the 14th season.
The model from Schlüchtern-Niederzell (Main-Kinzig district) can now be seen in well-known advertising campaigns, including Paco Rabanne and the Hugo brand from Hugo Boss.
After taking part in GNTM, she went to Berlin and lived in a shared apartment with season friend Cäcilia Zimmer.

The Hessian has been a singer since 2020 and wants to get started in the music industry, as she reveals to the Fuldaer Zeitung.
Her first song “Heartbroken Kid” reached almost a million streams.
Activists and models: Ex-GNTM candidates are committed to a good cause
The season the following year also caused a stir.
In addition to Lijana Kaggwa (2020), who unexpectedly dropped out in the final and is now campaigning against cyberbullying, and season winner and animal rights activist Jacky Wruck (2020), two other former candidates from Hesse have also found a voice for the good cause.
Larissa Neumann (2020) from Mörfelden-Walldorf (Groß-Gerau district) took 7th place in the 15th season.
As an influencer, she launched the talk format “Tall Girls Talk” on her Instagram channel.
Here she campaigns against insecurities regarding body size and wants to encourage young, tall girls in particular not to make themselves small because of supposed social ideals.
As a trans woman, Lucy Hellenbrecht (2020) campaigned for diversity and inclusivity when she took part in GNTM.
Today, the Kassel native uses her Instagram reach to continue to advocate for these values.
She has also accepted a leading role in the ARD telenovela “Rote Rosen”.
Here she plays the trans horse owner Nici.
The topic of transsexuality was taken up in the series for the first time.
