In a few months the lights will go out: no investor could be found for the Rübsamen department store © hab
Excellent news for the old town of Dachau: As the local newspaper has learned from a reliable source, the Dachau branch of the insolvent fashion house Rübsamen will not be closing after all.
An investor has been found who wants to continue operating two of the 13 Rübsamen branches - and one of them is in Dachau.
Dachau
– As reported several times, the traditional fashion house, whose headquarters is in Augsburg, went bankrupt last summer.
Since the search for an investor proved unsuccessful in the following months, the insolvency administration announced the closure of all branches at the beginning of the year.
From then on, stickers with “We are closing” and “Everything must go” also stuck to the windows of the Dachau branch.
It should be over at the end of May.
But it was always clear: the Dachau Rübsamen branch was not to blame for the crisis in the group of companies, which employs a total of 100 people.
Freshly renovated, the shop in the old town was “state of the art”, i.e. up to date, as managing director Marcus Vorwohlt once described it.
It was not without reason that he still hoped that the business in Dachau could be maintained until the end of 2023: “Dachau is almost safe” and “Dachau customers remain loyal to us,” Vorwohlt assured again and again.
When asked yesterday, no one wanted to confirm whether this loyalty ultimately led to the Rübsamen branch not being given up after all.
According to reports, the business will continue to operate under the name Rübsamen in the future and the insolvency proceedings will be completed by the end of May.
The Dachau employees are said to have already been informed about the good news.
