To bathe in the crowd, Charlène of Monaco was unusually close to the people on the prince's 66th birthday.
There were also a lot of Grimaldis on their feet.
Monaco - There was a huge crowd in bright sunshine on the Place du Palais when Charlène of Monacos (45), husband Albert (66) and their two children Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques (both nine years old) greeted the crowd.
Thousands of people gathered at the Prince's Palace on Thursday afternoon (March 14) for Prince Albert II's birthday.
Charlène and Albert looked harmonious and were beaming with their twins
The Objectif Monaco association had called on the population to demonstrate unity in difficult times and to come together to mark the ruler's 66th birthday.
The prince was deeply moved when, shortly before noon, he was received with a standing ovation and children waving flags and great cheers.
His wife Charlène beamed at his side and when the sovereign cut a huge, multi-tiered birthday cake on the square, there was first a sweet birthday kiss from the princess, who cut her usual elegant figure in an elegant gray knitted dress.

The sovereign then treated himself to a tour and then listened to the traditional “Joyeux anniversaire” (literally: “Happy Birthday”) interpreted by the Carabinieri Orchestra.
A real exception, the prince and princess shook hands and met a few people here and there to exchange ideas.
Later, the couple and other members of the Grimaldis waved to the crowd from the castle balcony.
Monaco Matin
described a football stadium-like noise when the royal family appeared at the window.
Then it was time to line up for a group photo in the palace.

The Grimaldis pose together for a rare family photo
Albert unites the family - the Grimaldis were almost completely assembled, only Charlotte Casiraghi's (37) husband Dimitri Rassam (42) was missing.
Everyone else looked for a place in the unconventional snapshot in a good mood: Stéphanie from Monaco (59), Caroline from Hanover (67), with Stéphanie's daughter Camille Gottlieb (25) smiling into the camera in between.
We continue with Pauline Ducruet (29), Beatrice Borromeo (38) and Pierre Casiraghi (36) with their children.
Marie and Louis Ducruet (31), Andrea Casiraghi (39) with his family.

Alexandrea von Hannover (24) placed herself on Albert's right side and the family of Charlène's brother Gareth Wittstock (41) could also be seen on the left in the picture with wife Roisin Galvin Wittstock and their two daughters Bodie and Kaia Rose.
It will probably soon be known how long the family continued to celebrate in private.
The princess's spending on designer clothing and her position in the royal ranking did not remain secret for long.
