Now actor Michael Culver has died.

Michael Culver shaped the film world for 50 years, and now the British actor has died at the age of 85.

After a long illness, Culver died on February 27th.

His management wrote on Instagram: “It has been an honor to have represented Michael for the last decade and brought him to some of the best Star Wars events in the UK.

We miss him.”

Michael Culver is considered a “Star Wars” legend, even though he actually only played a supporting role in part five “The Empire Strikes Back”.

Namely that of Captain Lorth Needa.

In the film, supervillain Darth Vader strangled him with a telekinetic grip.

An iconic scene for many fans.

Culver began his career with his first roles on British television and quickly became known through appearances in series such as “With Umbrella, Charm and Bowler Hat” and “Sherlock Holmes”.

And he even starred in two “James Bond” films in the 1960s: “From With Love” (1963) and “Fireball” (1965).

“Sherlock Holmes” podcaster Jeremy Brett also said goodbye.

He writes: “Michael had been ill for some time, but that did not stop this strong man from continuing to live and work and champion the causes for which he had fought so vehemently throughout his life.

Michael was not only an extraordinary actor, but also an extraordinary person.”
