Against the background of the tensions around the Temple Mount, the security system is prepared for the first Friday of the month of Ramadan: more than 3,000 policemen have been stationed throughout Jerusalem, six Border Guard companies have been stationed around the city.
"We will work to enable the freedom of worship in accordance with the required aspects of security and safety, the decisions of the political level and situation assessments that take place in the district," the police said.
As part of the preparations to prevent security incidents in the area, the police arrested in recent days a young resident of the city, who is suspected of violating a removal order given to him from the Temple Mount for a period of 3 months after he was identified and caught leaving the area of the mount.
The suspect was transferred to the David area for questioning.
Also, a 16-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of possessing clothing items identified with Hamas.

The Border Guard soldiers will concentrate their efforts to prevent the intrusion of illegal residents into the country's territories and the arrest of suspects who will try to help them. The activity will be carried out along the Green Line and especially in the Jerusalem area.
In the meantime, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 2,000 illegal residents were arrested throughout the country.
During the day, many roads around the city will be closed to traffic:
Starting in the morning until 4:30 p.m., the streets surrounding the old city will be blocked: Sultan Suleiman, Wadi Joz, Jericho Road, Shmuel Ben Adia, Haofel Road, Nablus Road, Salah al-Din, Ma'alot Ir David, Van Passen and Naomi Kiss.
Also, the following roads will be closed to vehicle traffic: Bar Lev Boulevard, Hebron Road, Paratroopers Street, Engineering Corps Street and the IDF Tunnel.
