The priest himself makes theater in Nandlstadt.

Dean Stephan Rauscher doesn't just give the plays by Theaterfreunde Zamgspuit his blessing.

Nandlstadt

– In which town does the priest take on the role of a pig farmer, a recreational golfer or is even elevated to the nobility of a count?

Right, in Nandlstadt.

Since the premiere on Friday, the stage boards in the Nandlstadt parish hall have been creaking again.

The Theaterfreunde Zamgspuit ensemble now includes a solid circle of actors from the parish association of Nandlstadt, Attenkirchen and Wolfersdorf, mostly between 20 and 30 years old, who, together with many hard-working helpers in the background, ensure an annual “acting treat”.

This was also the case this year, when the 163 tickets for each of the six performances were sold out within two hours.

Pastor writes the roles for everyone

Pastor Stephan Rauscher devotes a lot of energy and time to the stage spectacle.

He is responsible for selecting the piece as well as rewriting the original text.

It is also the clergyman who shortens dialogue, adds singing passages and incorporates additional roles in order to be able to integrate more actors.

In his mind, the clergyman has often already filled the roles that will be given to the young people depending on their time or ability.

And the priest doesn't forget himself either, he usually takes on the role of the main actor and is therefore undoubtedly the center of attention.

Time for expressions of love: Pastor Stephan Rauscher cares for a stuffed bunny, and at the end of the piece the audience in turn distributes cuddles in the form of long-lasting warm applause.

This is also the case at Theater 2024. In the play “Odel obligated” written by Cornelia Willinger, Rauscher plays a pig farmer with the appropriate name “Quirin Großschädl” who is confronted with several problems.

This is how the divorce from his wife Eva (Patricia Juric) is going, as a result of which future plans to buy the neighboring castle are becoming more distant.

Trouble also threatens from the resigned housekeeper Linde (Viola Treitinger), and his dachshund also dies due to a speeding car.

Malefactor: Pastor Hochholzer, played by Hanse Huber.

Stage design impresses with attention to detail

Finally, the nobility provides a breath of fresh air when Countess Odette von Hackenstein (Doris Tafelmaier), her confused son Edgar (Vitus Kaindl) and both maids Lisa (Rebecca Bauer) take the stage.

Simon Stark and Christian Egg as a homeless duo are responsible for the thoughtful passages in the piece.

Their home is a bus stop built with attention to detail and a meticulous timetable.

A ten-piece combo provides real musical power in the small parish hall, which contrasts quite powerfully with the delicate solo singing of the actors with two keyboards, two accordions, tuba and drums.

At the end, Pastor Stephan Rauscher appears happy and satisfied about the successful premiere in the role of director.

His “God bless you” goes out several times to all of the 50 or so participants who made their large and small contributions to the overall work of art, from building the stage to selling sausage rolls.

His special thanks went to prompter Simone Brumer, seamstress Renate Brumer and Theresa Kuba for the appropriate masks for the 14 actors surrounding the busy priest.

Another Hallertau stage event is casting its shadow: For its 675th anniversary, Markt Au is staging the cult play “Holledauer” Fiedel again.
